Hey i created a scene the other day with wings, however when i try to import it into sketchup it always crashes. Thought i fixed the errors but i guess there is still something going on! If someone could take a look at it, i would be forever in your debt!

I take a look on it. which format do you choose when exporting from Wings ?
I used 3ds
If the problem is with an EXPORTED 3ds file ... then why is that not the file format you share ?
I'm confused.

Is the problem with exporting 3DS from Wings3D ?
ok fair point i guess. Here is the 3Ds!

Hmm.

This is probably an "aside" from the real problem at hand you experience ... but maybe worth mentioning ... you have really really bloated you polygon count on the dragon and chain rings.

At the very least ... I would expect you might get rid of 1/2 or even 3/4 of you polys in the chains if you just chillaxed the budget for each LINK.

The dragon body and teeth feel like they may also be double or quadruple what an experience modeller might have spent (if had a strict polygon budget).

I wonder if you could use a decimate tool once you had the shape you wanted.

I have only looked at the .wings file. It took a long time to load here ... but that happens with 10MB files as they "explode" a lot in memory like a spring jumping out of a can. LOL.

Do you have an option for pushing it to sketchup using a say OBJ format ?
There definitelly is too much polys. I even no imagine exporting this to .obj file. . It might take ages to export.

Btw Wings obj exporter is broken for me, but I report that later as new topic
