I noticed that download page doesn't make reference to the Echo Boost version (a release candidate) that is faster than previous one and also includes a 64bit version of the program. You can find the it here.

Even it have been made for Maya users I found it a excellent source of information that can be applied to any other 3d model tool. I'm linking only the chapters related to modelling and texturing, but you will find the link for the other chapters in the site.
