Wow, well done. Good job with unwrapping!
hi olve11,
I was just wondering what's that black & white texture...so now I know

AO
Strange, cause I've seen it many times and why did not think about it. Even I model something I usually follow diffuse, spec and normal and what about AO? I'm also interested in Kerkythea, but where should I place it, as ambient?

Hi Hank
I'm glad you ask about this thing.
I was interested too on these type map.
AO map is mostly used if you have a low poly model and you want look like a lot of poly model.
In Kerkythea this map does not have location.
I used this map, when I want more reality for my model. (skin)
AO mask is very good for shading.
I used it in the GIMP, to produce a diffuse and specular texture of the skin. (mixing channels in layers)
AO layer in Gimp is very fast to create realistic skin textures and more.
Here are some examples:
Render with textures. With AO mask and without AO mask
and Kerkythea material setting:
1-Diffuse map
2-Specular (too from AO)
3-layer bump map 0 -skin wrinkles
4-layer bump map 1 -lips wrinkle
5-layer bump map 2 -black freckles
cheers

I can't see what channel mode you use for mixing the layers. Is it Multiply?
Thank you for explaining all details. I will try to use it in my next work.

Hi Hank
I used "burn" channel mode on green layer.
I am happy to help you and I look forward on your next super work
Bye
