please, paul, come on: you know i love your strips and almost all i know about wings i learned one day studying them! I'll keep await for more one.

A video to show specific workflow, involving Bend Clamped.

In reality this can be produced in less time, but i spent some time at beginning to show the commands i'll repeat in the other steps.

I've selected not just an edge (or vert, etc) to report Wings each requested reference (top, center etc), but complete Edge Loops, so that the operation reference could be keept centered in geometry thickness.

Fonte Boa,
That is a nice tip about edge loops. I noticed that it only works in the new 1.5... snapshot version.

No, oort, it isnt specific of 1.5 snapshot.

When Wings is waiting you pick a point (for example, during Clamped Bend), before go to the next step, you are able to do the following things without interrupt the operation:

( a ) use Camera freely
( b ) select an element and then press Space to deselect
( c ) change the mode (vert, edge, face)
( d ) draw marquees to select/deselect
( e ) select an edge and then call Edge Loop (hitting "L")
etc

The last thing was what i did in video to select an entire edgeloop ("L" key) during an operation like Clamped Bend.

RE: Bend: Quick Start tutorial - oort - 12-21-2012

Fonte Boa,
You are right... I was getting a crash after hitting L. I must have been selecting a vert instead of an edge before hitting L???

Thanks,
oort

+1. There will always be a place for those oracular strips (Even the strip-teases Biggrin)

Actually, it's quite a coincidence. I was just thinking ,that now my "base" is a bit more solid, thanks to F.Boa's videos, it's time to revisit those tutors: I think I'll be able to understand them a lot more. In fact, just yesterday I'd searched for and made a link to some of the tutors I'd saved in my comp ages ago.

Thanks a lot. Smile

Excellent tutorial videos, thank you for posting them all that time ago.
I'd like to see some update with a piece of text if possible?
I am having difficulty wrapping some text around a cylinder, am I using the wrong approach?

RE: Bend: Quick Start tutorial - micheus - 01-23-2022

The keyword here is to choose the appropriated references.

When you are bending a text it's difficult to get it correctly if you care about the alignment because it's very easy to get the text twisted instead of only bent.

I hope this reference I prepared help you to get it right.
The bounding box feature has many utility. This is one of them. Smile

Woo Hoo. Micheus to the rescue yet again.
Yes I was getting skewed text rather than bent, I will practice your method and hope for better results.
Thanks again for your brilliant explanation.
