this tutorial only works best on cylindrical objects. but i hope this helps speeding up the workflow.

Good tip!
People use to forget about it and end up creating new edge loops with connect and slide them.
You also can speed up your selections in that sample by selecting only the first edge (left) and the last one (right) and than use select edge ring [G] As it seems you did after select half of them.

Crease is nice when it works properly, but I frequently run in to situations where it starts to produce wonky edges. I still prefer the tried and tested methods of old just because it works like I want it to every time.
