The following video tutorial may help you... Rotate Pan and Zoom
It starts by showing how to do this with a mouse with scroll wheel but gives information for those who do not have that kind of mouse.

Related to Wings3D, you will find/read a lot the acronyms LMB, MMB and RMB. They means Left, Middle and Right Mouse Button, respectively.
