"This cube lattice has some small errors, in the geometry, can I use Wings3d to edit and cleanup these errors?"

Almost always the cleapup is easy. Things like separate, combine, invert, etc. What I see is sometimes the little tidbits get inside out. I have no idea why.

FYI: I did a .dae export and import into SketchUp: SketchUp allows for point to point editing, and hence one can create or delete unwanted planes. Cleanup of this type could literally take days. After which you would ask yourself, why did my wife divorce me........?

I discovered through experimentation that the Voronoi Encrust Surface as illustrated in the pic, Works!
if you Uncheck Please Weld Tidbits in the Encrust Surface dialog box

I hope you understand ... - ggaliens - 04-12-2013

I hope you understand ... that the Weld-Tidbits is just as sketchy as any other wings3D weld ... probably even more so because of the requirement for the math to be granularized (to fixed point). This is not a trivial task for me ... but we try. This is where experience and understand what is availabel to help you correct the 10% errors, 1% errors or manage the 10% and 1% down to like 0.1% by some kind of pre-processing tricks.

Yep ... if it all sounds like smoke and mirrors ... that's because the workflows are artsy and magical and goofy.

Learn how to find short edges, tiny tidits, holes, patch holes, invert bodies, run wings3D clean up, etc ... and do these things in proper order. It helps a ton.

Looks like I'm back to burning the midnight oil Smile

RE: Boolean operations? - ggaliens - 04-13-2013

Try the mono-disperse foam block that is "TILEABLE" in my sample files.

Cut it with a cube. The result should be very clean. It would avoid buring too much midnight oil.
