View => Shaders gone?? - rattle - 06-18-2017

The submenu is missing since 2.0+. I still have View => Shaders => Next Shader bound to a hotkey to cycle through but I'd prefer it if the menu was still there.

Shaders are in process of changing. That's way the options aren't available as before.

Ah okay, thanks for the quick response. It's still possible to add key binds to the config to go forward and backwards.

Back when I was using mostly Wings I made a variant of the hemisphere shader that supported normal mapping and fake rim light to pretty up the viewport.

Yes. The old shaders are still there, but "hidden". if you have a shortcut set in a old version you can still use them.

Sorry, but I cant tell you nothing about that.
dgud has been working on replace the old OpenGL code and that should to take a long time to get done as from his post for v1.4.1 test
dgud Wrote: Wings was based on the old OpenGL display lists, so it costs a bit more to build vertex buffers instead but with time and more shader usage it will be better, and the old OpenGL usage is removed in newer OpenGL versions, so we will have to move slowly in that direction.
