hello,
When selecting faces with area light on I'm not able to catch all faces:
(it selects only faces in front view)
area light turned off and it takes through the object

Hank, I couldn't to reproduce it.
Could you try your project in a PC with Windows?

That was another asleep bug. Good finding.
The fix is already available: Fixes for v2.2.1 (Patches)
