while your at it Micheus ... SVG import .. - Justanother1 - 02-19-2014

I found a site .. http://svg-edit.googlecode.com/svn/branches/2.6/editor/svg-editor.html
which is a simple online vector graphics browser editor, thought it would be fun to be able to draw shapes and import them, similar to Text. But they wouldn't import. I don't know much about the format, or if anyone has been successful importing SVG images. Any help here would be great!

Justanother1,
I just tested an SVG file created with Inkscape 0.48 and it works. Inkscape is an open source vector graphics program, if you are not familiar with it.

When you save the file make sure you save as "Plain SVG" and not "Inkscape SVG".

I'm going to put it on my list of things to check.

There is an other issue related to Wings3d importer in this thread (2012): "Inkscape .svg path import internal error"
for which oort added some important notes last year.

Yup, Ok Inkscape works, and yeah gotta convert to path and save as old style. I drew some simple objects in both Inkscape and the little website I posted, saved the images then opened them in Notepad and found the differences. I guess the newer version has operators (l for line and such), the older version just has coordinates, that's what Wings3d is reading .... well now I know.
