How to select hard-edge poles ?
How to select hard-edge poles ?
Hard-edge junctions between different strings of hard edges ? Can we do this with Plain-Old wings3D ? Please advise. It evaded me. |

RE: How to select hard-edge poles ?
Dimitri ... remind me to make you a video of new tubes from selection.
1) Pick hard-edge Junctions after BOOLEAN. 2) Interrupt JUNCTIONS with a vertex bevel. This requires a new selector to find the junction vertices, I think. (So I wrote one to release later). 3) Make tubes along all the boolean intersect lines in one pass. I got this workflow going. It seems fun and like something you might enjoy. |

RE: How to select hard-edge poles ?
It is a good idea... I would like to see it in a video...
I have tried a 'create tubes along selected loops' way of producing bevels too on booleans... Select seam lines > create a four edged tube > boolean union between the main object and the tube > delete the middle line of the boolean-ed tube > clear > and, there, you have some kind of bevel there... The results are not good, admittedly... they work only in some very limited cases... The experimenting with booleans continues however... : - ) |

RE: How to select hard-edge poles ?
It is good Mark... thanks for this add on... it expands the modelling horizon in Wings, as is the case with all the ML tools... : - )
Furthermore, having a way to select junction vertices may be useful for other works too... |

(04-08-2013 12:40 AM)ggaliens Wrote: How to select hard-edge poles ?Sorry for so late answer. We supposed would do that by using Select options: - Select by -> Hard edges; then store the selection; - Select by -> Vertices with -> Specify...; Enter minor number of edges and More option; then Select by -> Selection Groups -> Intersect Group -> edge: StoredSelection It should work. |

RE: How to select hard-edge poles ?
Yep. That sounds like it would work with stored selections.
