Hi Oort, yes, Second Life has been able to accept .dae files since before OpenSim could (OS is about 2 years behind SL in all new developments), but there are instances when a sculpt is still preferable to mesh. Large mesh models (e.g. rough terrain) create a huge land impact whereas the same model as a 1-prim sculpt has only 1 land impact. That's my experience anyway.
I've had the same problem with trying to sculpt with Wings3D as other people on this thread: "unsupported mesh size". This happens with 1.4.1 as well as newer versions, but I'll take your suggestion to experiment with the number of faces. You mentioned that you'd put sculpt templates on your site. I'm looking there but I don't see them. Thanks for your time
