smoothen faces normals
Hello.
I haven't used Wings in a long time but as far as I recall you could transform a face (maybe rotate it) so that its normal becomes the average of the normals of the surrounding faces. I just can't find it. Am I mistaken or otherwise is there any workflow in this respect? Case: the problem I have is that smoothing a body leaves some ugly creases because the normals of the initial adjacent faces don't vary gradually. That's why I want to "blur" their normals. Note: I don't want to edit the normals themselves and leave the verts/faces in their original position (if this would be even possible)! Instead I want to actually transform the faces (rotate/move) so that the normals get "blurred" as a result. |

RE: smoothen faces normals
Hi Mireazma. I don't remember about an option to rotate a face but for rotate a edge in a face.
Could you share the object for better evaluation? Also, are you working with a supposed low poly count, hard edges and a mix of tris/quads because it's needed? I'm asking because maybe we could to suggest some changes to the mesh topology.
