How to merge faces?
I created an cube and after a octagon, I put this objects in the same plane and I can't merge the two faces to cut an part of the cube in the format of the octagon. How to do this?
PS: Sorry for my English. |

RE: How to merge faces?
Hello,
Not sure if I understood corectly: you want to make an octogonal hole in one of the cube's face? If this is what you want I suggest to subdivide that face to get the octogon needed and hide the resulting face. Regards, Mishou |

RE: How to merge faces?
Thanks for your answer. Yeah, it's exactly that, but when a subdivide the cube to create a octagon connecting the vertex, the octagon is created with different sizes of edges. And this is not cool.

RE: How to merge faces?
An illustration of what you are looking for could help us.
Is it something like this? ![]() That was achieved by using Bridge command.

RE: How to merge faces?
Hello,
Should have been more specific about what I wanted to say. However this is my approach. ![]() ![]() Cut and connect horizontal edges, then vertical ones, including the resulting horizontal ones from 1st step, delete the unwanted edges to clean the shape and hole the octogon. Best regards, Mishou Quick edit: If you want a specific size is quite easy, but I want you to discover it
