What's currently underway ...
Where are we camping ? I'm currently re-working the Boolean plugins, testing, testing. Two big complaints from both PuzzledPaul and Dimitri have both been on my radar for a while ... 1) Preserve all hard edges during Boolean operation. 2) Handle bas-case of CUBE and CYLINDER. I have basically got (1) and (2) done ... minus being able to compile and link the intersect.exe commandline tool (it does union, intersect and subtract even though it is just called intersect). So good progress. No release yet though. |

RE: What's currently underway ...
Sounds good! I usually do my booleans pretty early so I haven't really had to preserve any hard-edges, but it might come in handy in the future

RE: What's currently underway ...
For fabricators and analyst ...
ManifoldLab now has two full-length reports available in body mode and face mode. There will be one for edges also. What we want to report is all the "extra" properties of Objects (Surface Area, Perimeter, Volume); Faces (Area, Perimeter). For edges ... could probably add dihedral angle and length, but have not done edge report yet. Ultimately ... if this could MATCH the Tools/Scene-Info dialog and then if that dialog had a "Print to TXT, Print to HTML Button ... that would be nicer than just going right to HTML. Probably. |

RE: What's currently underway ...
Really nice.
There's one very minor problem about Booleans. Selecting the second object, it automatically goes to sub-object (f / e / v) mode. But the object is selected nevertheless. Also all materials are lost after the Boolean. But I guess you already know that. ![]() The Booleans really add a lot of extra power to Wings.

RE: What's currently underway ...
Thanks a lot! Just started testing - not much spare time now - but so far it's working fine

RE: What's currently underway ...
ggaliens,
Nice to see preview added to scatter. I see it is listed as "Move: Scatter Bodies"... since the original object is copied instead of moved shouldn't it be called "Copy: Scatter Bodies"??? I still wish that the objects would be scattered on top of the target object... ![]() oort |
