Cannot Install
Hi..!
I'm trying to install this useful application of ubuntu OS but unfortunately I cannot it is because everytime I try to install this, there's an error..

Package dependencies cannot be resolved

This error could be caused by required additional software packages which are missing or not installable. Furthermore there could be a conflict between software packages which are not allowed to be installed at the same time.

Details>>>
The following packages have unmet dependencies:

wings3d: Depends: erlang-base-hipe (>= 1:15.b.1-dfsg) but 1:15.b.1-dfsg-3ubuntu2 is to be installed
Depends: erlang-abi-15.b but it is a virtual package
Depends: erlang-wx (>= 1:15.b.1-dfsg) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: erlang-xmerl (>= 1:15.b.1-dfsg) but 1:15.b.1-dfsg-3ubuntu2 is to be installed
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.14) but 2.15-0ubuntu20 is to be installed
Depends: libjpeg8 (>= 8c) but 8c-2ubuntu7 is to be installed

.

I'm uisng ubuntu 12.10
My system in fully updated.

Computer's specs.

athlon x64 dual core

RE: Cannot Install
Hi kaspy123, I'm not a Linux user, but I have the same distro/version installed in a VM for test purpose. I'm able to install the file you can find here (wings-1.4.1.137.g5ee2-linux.bzip2.run):
Code:
$ chmod +x wings-1.4.1.137.g5ee2-linux.bzip2.run
$ ./wings-1.4.1.137.g5ee2-linux.bzip2.run

What is the version/file are you installing?

RE: Cannot Install
Hi kaspy123, did you succeeded in installing it?

I have a Ubuntu distro (Mint) and I get the same problem, it seems that ubuntu left out of the repositories the erlang-wx package!

I have tried to download it frorm another repository but the wings3d package shows me the same error.

I have to try this:
http://erlang.2086793.n4.nabble.com/How-...33457.html

If i get wings3d working I'll tell you.

Asticles, did you try to install the Wings3D version I linked before?
I have a Mint(Maya) distro installed in my VM and I could install and start the program without any problem.

RE: Cannot Install
Asticles, did you checked the referenced folder?
Under wings install folder you should see these two: bin and lib

RE: Cannot Install
Wings 3D won't work on my Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) will not work because the package erlang-wx is excluded from the software centre.

If you have a 64bit machine, did you try the last snapshot?

RE: Cannot Install
The unfortunate reality is that many folks who have used Wings3D in Linux/Ubuntu are folks that build from
parts and go the extra mile.

I would like to take time to try the latest snapshot from Dan G.
