Unless I am not seeing an issue that you are seeing???yafaray plugin doesn't export normal data, so Yafaray must be computing it. POV-Ray and Kerkythea have an option for include the normals into exported file, then they don't need to calculating this information. Don't worry about the test I suggested. It probably is related to what you said. I really liked the result of this plant. It isn't so smoothed and the render can looks very nice.

RE: YafaRay Renders
Micheus,
Interesting about normals export. Is there any way to compare exported files from Kerkythea and Pov-Ray and rendering results to see if the problem you were having with normals is the fault of Wings3D or if it is the fault of KT? Is there an advantage in having the normals calculated prior to rendering? I did a test this morning using Direct Lighting and the round spots do not appear so it must be a setting I need to change when rendering with SPPM. I will need to check the YafaRay forum for help on that. Things I have tried so far have not helped. I also tested and confirmed that it is the glossy map that is causing Direct Light renders to take so long. I have Subdivisions set to 2 in the YafaRay render options. I don't think you could make the plant look any better than it already does. ![]() All I had to do, in order to get rid of the round spots, was enable IRE in the SPPM Lighting settings. See results below... oort
