2D to 3D
Hello,
My name is designguy and this is all very new to me. I don't even know if I am in the right ball park but here's goes. I have a 2D artistic rendering ( front view only) of a figure I need to develop into a 3D image that can be used with a 3D printer. Does Wings 3D support such a venture? Please let me know if there is a snowball's chance of such a thing happening here. Thanx. |

RE: 2D to 3D
3D printers are very picky about the kind of geometry that it will safely print. Wings3D is most certainly a great tool for creating "water tight" mesh but if you are looking for a magic button in any program that will turn a 2D image into a 3D model. . . you will be looking for a very long time. It simply doesn't exist. The artist/modeler has to build the model using the 2D image as reference.

RE: 2D to 3D
Exactly, but before I get any deeper into this site I need to know it's capabilities. Simply, given any level of design expertise, is it possible to use Wings 3D to develope a 3D image based upon an available 2D drawing.
