Hallo is it quick way to make this kind of selection in few clicks?

(1) Select any diagonal line of square faces
(2) Hit "F" to expand the face selection
(3) Call Select|Deselect Previous

Repeat (2) and (3) until you reach the result you posted in the picture.

You can start too with any horizontal or vertical line of alternate selected faces.
To be more confortable, create a shortcut to the step (3)

Thanx, softimage has adjacent, like in wings 3D but it deselects previous selection so you can very fast make this kind of selection. It's peaty that wings 3d has no this feature and it's adjacent not so useful?
Also adjacent then deselect previous, is another way to make this kind of selection, just found)
