UV Mapping Weird Alignment
I have noticed that the unfold methods tend to put UV maps at odd alignments in the map.
The easiest way to describe this is that if I have a symmetrical object, all the similar faces will align in the texture map to the axes as much as possible. What I see in Wings is a lot of \ \ | | / / kind of weird diagonal alignments. Now, no one likes jaggy, pixellated lines in their texture maps, so there ought to be a way to say... - Select a center or edge line in a UV object - Pick "align object horizontal" or "align object vertical" - there should also be a way to pick multiple objects of the same types and align them all together. I'd rather live with false hope than with false despair. |
