Will not run
Greetings,
I was able to run Wings for a day and then it stopped. I figure there was an update to Windows 10 (pro) overnight and that is why things quit working. Logs as follows... Code: Faulting application name: erl.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x584f14c9Code: Fault bucket 1822372369015086824, type 4Code: DllHost (9192,G,0) The beta feature EseDiskFlushConsistency is enabled in ESENT due to the beta site mode settings 0x800000. |

RE: Will not run
I also use Windows 10 Pro, all updates applied automatically, and I have no problem running Wings3D.
Without a dump file generated by Wings3D I cannot help much. Sorry. Maybe the main dev (dgud) could say something about it, but he has been checking the forum eventually.

RE: Will not run
As an extra information, I checked my ntdll.dll file and it has the same version as yours -> 10.0.16299.248
WinVer.exe results in: - Version: 1709 - Operational System compilation: 16299.248 the latest updates were made in Feb 14th - kb4074588 Others in the same day was related to MS Office 2010 Since your updates happened in Feb 20th, maybe your OS versions is not the same as mine. ---- The Exception code: 0xc00000fd means Stack Overflow and it's not something someone can guess what has caused it. If there is any tip about that it would be into those dump files listed in the second block in you post. But, sure I'm not the guy to check that - I don't know much about the Erlang code. (02-22-2018 02:46 AM)lawndartleo Wrote:By checking this message I found there are a lot of people complaining about it. It's strictly related to the OS and no one got a answer or solution: EseDiskFlushConsistency - win10 1709 It seems like something you have installed uses a stuff from Windows that others (like me) doesn't use. Do you have any other application that uses OpenGL that is causing your system to fail? If so, maybe it could be related to display driver. Someone fixed the problem for this by doing this: "What fixed the issue for me was running Display Driver Uninstaller. It is a great little driver cleanup thing that is free and has no adware or anything. Let it do it's thing in safe mode and all that and see if it works." It was related in this article: Beta feature in Windows Update? ---- The problem with Wings3D... Does it just stopped to start? or does it start and then crash? Did you try to uninstall and reinstall it again?

RE: Will not run
Hi,
There are no DMP files in the Wings folder(s). Can you please tell me where to find the file(s) that will be of help. I am on Windows 10 Pro. Nothing that I am aware of is using OGL. Nothing else is running, really. I have removed and reinstalled Wings a few times. I am updating my Nvidia drivers, too. |

RE: Will not run
The Wings3D dump file uses to be created on desktop. If you don't see it is because the crash doesn't occurs when Wings3D is already running.
You could to try remove that Windows update in case this option is available. I never did that on Windows 10. If you were able to do that, before restart Windows you must to disable de automatic updates. This way you would be able to check that Wings3D will start and the problem really cames from the OS updates. As I said, I cannot do much in this case, just try to give you ideas that I certainly would to try to workaround or figure out were can be the problem. Sorry.

RE: Will not run
The driver update had no effect.
WebGL is disabled in Chrome, I don't know if that is at all related to OGL but I removed it from the list of suspects. Wings never gets to running. ERL.EXE pops in my process tree for a few seconds and then it is terminated. What I have posted above is from my event viewer. I'll consider rolling back the update, not really something I want to do but I might have to. Thank you for the help. |

RE: Will not run
I don't have any ideas, it seems OS related?
Can you start erlang at all? i.e. double click on C:\Program Files\wings3d_2.1.5\bin\werl.exe I had to update a bunch of windows files (redistributeables) after upgrade when various program crashed but I don't remember if it looked like that. Try reinstalling wings and be sure to check the install Microsoft DLL checkbox. |

RE: Will not run
I can start each of the Erlang consoles (erl.exe and werl.exe).
I have checked the redistributables, they install and prompt for a restart which I have done. As stated before, Wings worked for a day just fine and all went bonkers the next day. The only change I can positively identify is updating Java. Below are the latest event viewer reports and log file... C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_erl.exe_be51ddb5aa759a087a72f285d81a90b7a62cdc_86e0b1b3_00a7e3a9\report.wer as follows... Quote: And the Event viewer logs... Quote: |
