Sure, here is a similar model also showing the same problem, but I can provide many more.
As it has already been noted, the glitch only affects groups of small faces describing curved surfaces. Scale up my model above by a factor 10, and its smoothing will look perfect.

EDIT: I have just had a look into OXO's model. Indeed its smoothing looks fine in the latest W3D release, but if you scale it to ca. 15% of its current size, the problem will show up again ;-)

Ok. Thanks for checking. I'm moving this thread back to v2.* bugs so we can pay attention on it again.

Ok reverted the code that introduced this, was added to fix boolean operation on very small triangles.
