Joys of Sweep
First time Optigon released Sweep tool, i couldnt unfortunately understand its extreme importance: using Sweep, you can Extrude, Inset and Bend simultaneously, if i could express by this way!
I recorded three short videos just to show and invite wingers to use it more and more and more. In all the situations, i created a hotkey to Sweep | RMB Sweep Region. So every time i hit this hotkey, Wings waits i pick the Sweep axis: i pick it with lmb and execute with rmb click. Sweep waits for various user inputs; they are listed in left side of info line: Drag: extrude the selection Lmb+drag: rotate the selection around picked ax Ctrl+Rmb+drag: scale the selection Rmb+drag: rotate the selection around Normal Tip: Ctrl+D: repeat, but first you have to pick again the Sweep axis. D: repeat, using the last picked Sweep axis. Shift+D: repeat the last Sweep operation, without new user inputs. Thanks for watching: any feedbacks are appreciated. I'll try to record another ones, more didatic, but if anyone have questions about what is being shown at video, just let me know and i can explain better: it is really a fantastic tool. ![]() At the first video, i Lmb drag to rotate the selection, but keeping Shift hold, and this key was set here to rotate any selection by increments of 15 degrees. User can set this value at: Edit/Preferences|Constraints tab|Rotation Constraints. __________________________________ http://www.youtube.com/wings3dchannel http://www.facebook.com/wings3dchannel |

RE: Joys of Sweep
One more. Same way: i hotkeyed Sweep | rmb Sweep Region
and used Shift+D to repeat the first Sweep operation. To freely experiment, it is recommended to increase Wings number of "undos" in Edit/Preferences/Misc ("undo levels"). __________________________________ http://www.youtube.com/wings3dchannel http://www.facebook.com/wings3dchannel |

RE: Joys of Sweep
That last video of yours really blew me away, I had never thought of using sweep in that fashion before. the obvious idea that comes to mind is horns for characters. But potentially ... Great job man! I have definitely learned something today.

RE: Joys of Sweep
Thanks a lot for pointing me to the possibilities of 'sweep'.
I was about to ask for a plugin to make all kinds of spirals, like a fiddlehead, or ornaments on old buildings. 'Sweep' does the job as well. |

RE: Joys of Sweep
Fonte Boa, could you replace the youtube links in your posts? I can't load the video at all.
All I see is grey rectangle instead of video. |
