How about you remove Wings3D Preferences.txt?
The file is exist in a folder "/Users/(UserName)/Library/Preferences/Wings3D"
(Of cause take a back up before trying...)
My enviroment is MacOSX 10.9.5

By the way,do you use a mix of both versions?
This trouble seem that a preferences data conflict between v1.4.x and v1.5.x

Because,I got a similar CrushLog on v1.5.3 when check turn on "Wings crashes if axes are turned off" in "Preferences > Misc : Workaround".

The old preference file was saved with v1.4.1.
So I remove Wings's Preferences.txt, and Re-ran v1.5.3 to make new preferences.
After that,Wings didn't crash when turn on/off the settings.
