Creating verts along intersection between two objects
Hello, i am trying to create the screw thread for a lightbulb. I was wondering if i had a spring in the place where i wanted to make the thread i could simply tell wings to create the verts where the spring and the lightbulb intersect (basically "drawing a path for the verts.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

RE: Creating verts along intersection between two objects
The simplest option that most will suggest is to use The ML Boolean, after producing the 2 relevant objects (glass bulb + threaded cylinder)
However, if the top end of the threaded cyl is left as a cyl, then the task is simple, since both objects then have a circular cross section, and (especially) if they have equal vert counts ... just use bridge. To make a reasonable thread (imo) you'll have to modify the spring tho - one approach mentioned below. Even simpler, btw ... is to make a std UK type bulb ... with a bayonet fixing ![]() pp http://www.wings3d.com/paulthepuzzles/springthread.html |
