Some AutoUV ideas
I use Wings3D extensively in my work. It's been my modeller of choice for years and I am fortunate to have a job where I'm not bound to use anything specific. In many ways, Wings allows me to be faster and more precise than my coworkers who don't use Wings. When it comes to UV mapping, we're about the same level, although wings still has some nice things the others don't, but I feel there's a missed opportunity here.
There are some of the commands present in the modelling part that would be very useful in the AutoUV tool. Such as the ability to scale from a specified point, not just the center of a piece. Same goes for flattening vertices, where I often find I'd like to flatten them to a specific point rather than the selected average. Some absolute commands would also be extremely useful, such as the move and snap. I don't want to come off negative though, I love the UV tool, but I often find myself thinking having these options would make this a lot faster. Even if these things aren't possible, that's OK. Anyway, just a few ideas and not really anything new. Thanks ![]() Cheers, Nova |

RE: Some AutoUV ideas
I agree: UV tool could really be improved if those Wings commands (Scale from a point, Flatten to a specific point, Absolute Snap) work there.
What do you think, Micheus? AutoUV is a very closed world or there are chances to improve some standard Wings commands to it? Thanks for your precious attention, Micheus.

Nice to know, Micheus: i was imagining AutoUV was a very close world. __________________________________ http://www.youtube.com/wings3dchannel http://www.facebook.com/wings3dchannel |

It's going to be a while before I get to any useful stage though, I think, so I'll still arm myself with patience

RE: Some AutoUV ideas
I feel kinda bad adding to this thread, as my ideas/requests are enough of a mouthful on their own, I imagine. However, I just feel like I'd mention that having the ability to add hotkeys in the AutoUV tool would also be very helpful.
