RE: Some AutoUV ideas
hello,

As this thread already here, please add to the list that some uv repack function also would be nice. The one integrated with the unwrapping workflow is fine, but there are many cases when some mistakes have to be corrected after that and the charts then need a repack. Rearrange them by hand is a way of course, but would be much better if repacking availabe as a separated function too. I do not know how hard to make this happen, I think there is chance tha you can reuse the algorithm already there, but may be not that easy.

RE: Some AutoUV ideas
Hi!
Before,I had thought about the features that want to add to AutoUV.
This is an idea of command for changing the repetition of existing texture pattern.
It can change easily the position and size, rotation to pin point.
This is possible even current UI, but it takes very troublesome.

The substantial proportion is ....
0.5 = scale up x2
1.0 = same as Width of the blue UV Square in AutoUV Window.
2.0 = 2 times repeat

Though I do not know whether it can be realized Biggrin

RE: Some AutoUV ideas
ohhh I throw my 3 cents here Smile

-nice feature would be to weld UV coordinates:
For example we have two almost identical objects and its UV coordinates looks like below:

And with screens below I show how 'UV welding' works in another app:
(I'm moved these two charts to the same place)

and voila:

this works great, but option to choose which chart can act as reference for others would be awesome (so that distorted chart should snap to that 'reference chart' )

-Another thingy that I'm miss much (and use it often in another app) is to scale selected ones with draging a box corners, something like 'Free scaling'

from:

to:

maybe someone write: "so make these UVs in another app". Yeah, I can, but this involving exporting to another format and only problems when I need to change original mesh in Wings, so UV's must be done from beginning Smile hope this change in future because Wings UV facility is really great!

cheers Smile

Why nobody tell me that kind of scaling (post above) is possible in UV window ;p ?? just switch to vertex mode and now it scale a selection based as whole ^.^ just noticed it hehe

You didn't ask. Biggrin
I already commented about that some times - here is one. Believe - that tkbd's reference guide is useful Wink.
