this kind of airplane has a wingspan of 17,75m.

So just right click (Body menu), and another right click (or click on the little rectangle at "cube" word) on Cube command, and type "17,75" on X axis. This long cube is your reference to F13 airplane wingspan.

EDIT: As the tutorial mention: "The cube will be a temporary reference for scaling the image-plane containing the plans."

I do feel dumb, I looked at that little rectangle but never clicked on it. I just spent 2 1/2 hours going through all the tutorials I found on Google looking for an answer.
