tkbd, thanks for the feedback.
My Ubuntu is running into Virtual Box. The OpenGL information is the same you have for your notebook and I'm also experiencing the dark flick (not in the full window as you - just in the top of it). Unfortunately I'm not sure I can do something about that since I don't have a so old PC available for that. Anyway I'll try to make a real 32bit install in a old hard drive, but my video card is newest, so I don't now if this will help much. Again, thank you for it test and give me the feedback.
