Question What about opensubdiv?
Hi all,

I've seen that on the 3d industry seems to be some movement from the standard catmull-clark subdivision to opensubdiv libraries from Pixar, I think there are some performance improvements and the abbility to tweak the hardness of creases, like we've always seen on blender crease weight. (Althought opensubdiv is still being implemented con blender).

Also alembic format seems that will be the near future standard interchange format (more collaborative than others). Maybe crease information is posible to be exported in this format, but I'm not sure. I've heard that also fbx can.

As wings3d is a subdivision modeler, I beg developers consider this, wings3d is great as is, but what is the roadmap for the future?

Thanks !
Sorry for my poor English.

RE: What about opensubdiv?
I'd like to second this request. Being able to tweak the hardness of a crease would be fantastic and from what I am seeing in the early support in blender is that it is highly optimized for GPU acceleration.
