Here is Wings.
The working area by default contains both axes indicators and a
ground plane.
Axes and/or ground plane can be turned on/off using the icon buttons
or commands in the View menu.
Context-sensitive menus
Many commands in Wings are found in context-sensitive menus which
you can bring by right-clicking. If there is nothing selected, the
menu contains a list shapes that can be created.
Selecting
You select by left-clicking. In the picture below, a single face
of the cube has been selected (indicated in red). When something
is selected, the context-sensitive menu that pop up when you right-click
will contain only the command applicable to the selection. In this
case, the menu contains commands that operate on faces.
When you start Wings, it is in Face selection mode, meaning that
you can select (only) faces.
In Wings (unlike in many other programs), left-clicking on a new
face will not deselect any faces previous selected. To deselect
a face, click on it again.
There are four selection modes in Wings, each with their own command
in the associated context-sensitive menu:

Changing selection modes
Change selection mode by left-clicking one of the lower-left buttons
or press one of the following keys
V > Vertex | E
> Edge | F > Face | B >
Object
Deselecting
There are two ways to deselect items in Wings:
- Left-click on each of the selected items.
- Press the space bar to deselect everything.
Immediate Commands
There are two main types of commands in Wings: the immediate commands
and the interactive commands.
The immediate commands do their thing directly without waiting
for further input. For instance, Mirror is an immediate command.
Interactive Commands
Interactive commands need more input. For instance, if you choose
the command SCALE > Z, you can move
the mouse left and right to vary how much the face should be scaled
along the Z axis (the blue axis).
Left-click to complete an interactive command, or right-click if
you changed your mind and want to abort the command.
Note that the mouse should be moved left and right. Wings ignores
vertical mouse movements.
The exception is commands ending in Free, such as MOVE
> FREE. In that case, you can move the mouse in any direction.
The movement will be along the view plane.
Changing the view
The middle mouse button is used for changing the view.
Press and hold the middle button while moving the mouse to rotate
the view.
Hold down the Ctrl key and middle mouse button to zoom in or out.
Hold down the Shift key and middle mouse button to drag the view
(pan).
