Oki, I have mentioned it in main off topic forum, but I did not remember we had this list. For new comers or just whenever anyone consults this list, I am adding here a tool that seems kind of useful for handling dense meshes, very high density ones. Useful for joining meshes, and dealing with those in several ways. Is from Autodesk, so I'd expect some advanced features. I have not tested it yet. Freeware. :

A very smoothly working new sculpting app. It has a z-spheres like sketching feature too. Try it and give feedback to its author. It seems that it has all the potential to be a very powerful sculpting app.

Nice. It's like the Sculptris would be back to development. Smile
Yes Micheus, it is so. : - )
Thanks for the list, I should have come here first instead of spending a fortune on TurboCAD.

create a voxel model with brushes or extrude pixel-art images.
Boolean-Operations.
paint on the model.
supported OBJ export.
easy to use.
check out the "MagicaVoxel" features and tutorials on youtube.

a great Open-Source-App called:

MagicaVoxel

- a free lightweight 8-bit voxel editor and interactive path tracing renderer
- Export Mesh with Baked AO and Soft Shadow
- Support Voxel Shader, Enhanced Brushes, Marching Cube Export
- Support Transparent voxels with Refraction and Attenuation
- support 2048^3 Volume, 16-bit Color/Normal

Cool Arg Arg, MagicaVoxel looks very nice Biggrin
Magicavoxel is popular isnt it?Biggrin
The voxel-based free modeling softwares, other there is also such software.

Zoxel
http://zoxel.blogspot.com/
Zoxel is support many voxel formats.
(for example magicavoxel.vox, qubicle.qbcl, sproxel.csv etc....)

Sproxel
http://sproxel.blogspot.com/
This is nice software, I can cheked to correctly output in obj format. But it seems to have slowly the development.

*About compatibility of the exported obj data and Wings3D. Sad
The exported OBJ file by these voxel softwares,
it is contains see one object, but it isn't one object.
In actually these are organized by many separate polygon objects.
So,If you are also trying to Extrude it, it does not produce good results.

I tried export test to four voxel softwares, using three software the same trouble happen.
Only sproxel was made good obj data export.

Recreate the process
  • 1. Save create a single cube voxel
  • 2. Saved in obj format
  • 3. Import the obj file by Wings3D( or other 3D software)
  • 4. On Wings3D,Apply the object to body "Separate"command and Move to one of the faces.
  • 5. The surface is inappropriate for modeling in pieces

If you are interested, it is a good idea to make a plug-in to read the file of voxel format Wings3D.

*Official Site

https://translate.google.com/translate?s...2Fdoku.php
(English translation by Goolge)

It is a freeware create by mqdl who an individual.
It works Windows and Mac.
Only recently (2016/04/10) it was released. It is still newborn.
There is also a feature that has not been implemented yet.
But I thought cool that the qcuik access panel that can be freely command registration/unregistration.

A bit off topic because this little app is not for 3d use, but is such a time saver. Eveything is a desktop search engine which locate files and folders by name and give you the search results in a blink.
