I remember a little about that discussion, but as we can see in the sample pointed that kind of operation can be easily done by using Tools->Connect. (Yeah, I know that not in one step but three)

It is not only the three steps Micheus... it is that the connect tool in Wings produces results that are dependent on camera view. You can use the command in an 'align to selection' view (in orthographic mode) but even in such a case there would be problems when the selected points are far from each other, because they would become -as it is expected- invisible to the user.

Having a simple 'connect by shortest distance' command would solve all those problems. The whole idea was extremely simple: you just select two vertices on any area of the surface of a mesh and, then, you click 'connect by shortest distance'. Just in the way that it is implemented in Blender.

Below is the link of the request in the older forum:

Below is a video showing a new retopo tool in Blender... it is some kind of 'loop bridge' tool -in principle- as the one I did mention long ago here (although working in a very advanced way).

Having a 'loop bridge' tool would be a superb retopo tool for Wings (despite its utter simplicity as to its working way)... something that would endow the user with ways to take advantage of the ML booleans also. Just wanted to mention it here... as a genuine Wings addict...
