Hi guys, I'm new here and I would like to know which are the best versions of Wings3d and YafaRay render to use on Windows XP?

Did you already installed one and had any problem?

I would recommend you to download the latest one. Each version is always including the fixes for the bugs in previous one.
So, just be aware if you pick an older one you should look at Bug Reports session where you find a pinned thread for Patches/Fixes for Wings3D.


Just in case you didn't see, you are going to find lot of information about Yafaray in this thread: Renders tips

You can ask questions in the Interface & Usage. oort is the Yafaray specialist here, but I can try to help eventually.

Michels, thanks for the feedback and support you give everyone here on the forum.

I had problems with the 2.x.x versions of Wings on Win XP. They didn't load after installation.

I was able to install and run version 1.5.4, with fix_update.

I installed YafaRay 3.4.4 as explained in the link and it ran perfect!!!

I already have work in process to share here.

There is a newer version 3.5.1 of YafaRay available, which should also work for you. You can download it from the following website.
Newest version of YafaRay

If it does not work you can always switch back to the older version of YafaRay.
