May I suggest you to use a slightly darker grey in background for the first one? That would evidence the white mesh on the model.

Thanks, I'll try it. For the splash, I was just using the Wings geometry window with no ground plane and no axis.
EDIT: I've uploaded a modified splash with a darker background.
