Nope, neither option works. I guess I should mention that every time the camera jumps like that, all I am doing is pressing the mouse button, clicking once.

quite old topic but I found some time and started to play with Linux Ubunt 14.04 (yes, also very old), but now I got similar issue for 2.1.5. Tweak is always ON and when selecting vertex and moving mouse pointer it comes back to original position (to selected vertex) - it happens only when tweak is on. Tried with OFF and no issue. I've tested various tweak preferences and 'Click Speed for select/deselect' almost helps. The difference is significant.

Yes, 'Camera moves and interactive commands and jumpy' is also ON

Finally I've found the root cause.
Strange but it's related with hardware conflict. My mouse with DPI switch button is not set properly on the OS and when connected new mouse the problem is gone.
