Personally I like the fact that MOST of the available functions I can use at a given time on a given component are visible to me right away.

The problem is that at this time Wings is beyond the point where this is convenient. The program is too rich. You can't cram stuff into menus indefinitely.
This is the way I'd like to see it done (example from LibreOffice):



You get categories, choice of options, and documentation all at once. What's not to like?
