Yes ... maybe the bug is in Stringify.

I couldn't affirm that. In that case the crash should occurs in the previous assignment line: CmdStr = wings_utiltringify(Cmd),
not in the dialog building.

Anyway, without be able to reproduce, it's just speculation.

If you will try to fix this bug, please let know. It uses to be my task do that.
All this talking, speculation, are not helping.
