maker,
With both R-click Cube and clicking the tiny box I get the same dialog.... yes the sexy one... Smile Not sure why your Wings3D would be different??? Have you been drinking NyQuil or is my system doing something different? Smile

I wonder if it's a OS-based bug. I'm on Win XP.

I just checked. Wings 3d pre 1.5 (and mlab 18 dec) both give me the same result.

No, I'm not on NyQuil. Not that I've anything against it Smile

NyQuil is always my go to medication when I am sick... no I am not getting payments from them to say so... Smile

I am running XP as well.

I just checked mlab 18 dec and it is consistent with what I was seeing in Wings3d 1.5 pre. Normally in Wings3d 1.4.1 R-click and clicking the tiny box both open the dialog window for adjusting settings (not the new sexy one). L-click just pops up a cube with the default settings. At least that is normal for me. I wonder if I am the one seeing odd things???

Can you try downloading mlab 19 dec? IIRC, there was a problem with default settings of Cube in it. And, IIRC, when I installed 1.5 pre, it affected the default behaviour of the other Wings versions, in some strange way. The Preferences file of the others seemed to have changed. Perhaps that's your problem (reversed).

Re your last paragraph: that's what I was, and am, getting. Smile

So I guess maybe my issue was misunderstood which happens a lot for me... Smile

My issue was that the default is to get a cube with 6 cuts and I would like to get a cube with 1 cut (I would call that no cuts).

This thread is for the Wings Snapshot and related bugs, not for Wings plus plugins or Manifold Lab. The development team works and test the Wings 3D source code as is with no additions that are not already included in the pu (prospective update) version.

optigon,
Sorry for getting things off track here... Sad

I fixed my problem by editing the preferences.txt file. The 1 was a 6 in the following line for some reason???

{{wpc_ncube,nres},1}.

Optigon, my apologies too.

But what I actually meant to say was, (IIRC) mlab 18 dec version had changed the default menu entry for cube to ncube. This could have affected the pref file in the official version. Mlab of 9 dec had corrected this problem. So, I thought, installing this would fix the problem. (Or re-installing 1.5 pre.)

But, you are right. Sorry.
