Here is an easy fix:
Menu bar/ selection:
This selects the group items and unhides them!
And/Or select the folder and put this option in the item menu.

If a selection is hidden this would unhide them in the Geometry windows.

Officially, there is no option to hide a selection group. We hide a set of selected items have they been chosen "by hand" or via a revered selection group. Which means there is no show option too.

But, I also think that haveing this possibility would be handy. I use the Select Group window frequently and I already missing it.
