Hi all
Just a bit of an introduction, The name is Jim, I'm a 55 year old CAD/CAM CNC programmer in a Vancouver Washington tool and die shop. I have around 20 years CAD/CAM experience from clear back when it wasn't even popular. Have used several systems,CimCam, CoCreate ME10 (now Creo Elements Direct) DPTechnology ESPRIT, CGTech Vericut, and now SIEMENS NX (formerly Unigraphics)
(No never AutoCad, SolidWorks, or MasterCam)
I'm visiting a personal project now that requires the .OBJ file format.. That's what has led me here. I have already downloaded Wings3D and installed it. I've been playing around with it reading the manuals and a few tutorials.. Pretty impressive what you all have going here from what I can see so far... looking forward to working with you getting to know you all.

Thanks
Z

Welcome to our community Zorkon. Smile

I hope you have downloaded the latest version (1.5.3) and if so I would ask you to check these posts with fixes for two important bugs reported: post1 and link2

Hi Zorkon, and Welcome.

You have a similar background to myself. I first started on CNC in the mid 70s during an apprenticeship at Rockwell International (formally MGD Systems (in the UK)). Since then have used most CAD/CAM packages.
You will find Wings 3D a lot different to CAD, but I will say, wings 3D is very addictive, with a good workflow, once you get to know it.
