If you allow me a comment, I would use a less bright/reflexive material for the wood.

Did you use the deep render image to simulate the DOF? I had used that technique in the past too, but I found it was necessary for Kk 2007. For Kk 2008 we can play with the DOF.

Wood is more reflexively because it is over the water fog (mist) (because the wood is wet from fog in air)

Deep render image combined with Gimp (or Photoshop) is very fast and more flexible (better than everything render - for me Cool).
